Bucks Run-Rule Arkansas Baptist

(April 4, 2023) Mena, Arkansas - After dropping 3 of 4 region games to Redlands this past week, the Bucks returned home on Tuesday afternoon for a mid-week contest with Arkansas Baptist College. The Bucks entered the day 12-18 overall and 6-10 in Region II. 

The Bucks scored 14 of their 15 runs in the first four innings. The men recorded only 9 hits on the day, largely to 3 errors on the Buffaloes defense and 11 walks taken by the Bucks. Offensively, Brayden Sites (Sheridan, AR) led the Bucks with 5 RBIs on the afternoon. Three other Bucks had multiple RBIs on the day: Jimmy Mathis (Grandview, TX) 3, Blake Ritter (Ashdown, AR) 2, and Brett Justice (Jacksonville, AR) 2. Justice belted a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third inning. 

On the mound, Jacob Pannell (Fayetteville, AR) got the start and faced only 13 hitters on the day. Pannell (2-2) evened his season record, while allowing 0 runs on 0 hits. The right-hander struck out 4 and walked a lone hitter on the day. Three other Bucks pitched an inning a piece to finish the contest. 

Defensively, the Bucks had a clean game with no errors. 

The Bucks now turn their attention back to region play. Murray State College comes to town on Thursday for a doubleheader. The first game begins at 1 pm. The series concludes on Saturday in Tishomingo, OK.
