Bucks Cruise Past Falcons; Advance in Plains District Tournament

(May 14, 2022) Enid, Oklahoma - Less than 24 hours after falling to Murray State, the Bucks were in a no lose situation for the rest of the tournament. The Bucks faced the only team outside of Region II, East Central College from Missouri, at 1 pm this afternoon at David Allen Memorial Ballpark.

Jackson Wells (Rogers, AR) got the start on the bump for the Bucks. He would last 5.0 innings in the start, shutting out the Falcons. He would strike out 6 hitters and walk 3 in the outing.

The Bucks got the offense going in the bottom of the first inning. After a lead off walk, then a single, and runners advancing on passed balls, Chase Webb (El Dorado, AR) hit a sac fly to left field to open up the scoring. Next at-bat, Luke Rice (Scott, AR) repeated the same thing to right field to give the Bucks a 2-0 lead. The offense wasn't done in the inning. After a walk, Trace Watkins (Sheridan, AR) hit a RBI triple that made it 3-0 after an inning.

With Wells cruising in the second and third, the Bucks put up a 6 spot on the scoreboard in the bottom of the third inning with 2 outs. After a 1 out walk and two hitters later, Mason Reynolds (Fort Worth, TX) would hit a RBI single to centerfield before Casey Shipley (Prairie Grove, AR) would do the same thing. After a pair of walks, Cole Clark (Clarksville, AR) would then single to left field that scored a run. Chase Webb then followed suit with a RBI single of his own. Next at-bat, Luke Rice hit a RBI single to make it 9-0 after three innings.

After Wells day was done after the fifth, Ike Pelts (Lamar, AR) entered the game in relief. He would pitch 2 scoreless innings in relief.
